Time Travel With A Trip To Lansdowne, Uttarakhand

Lansdowne, a quaint hill station nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas. Lansdowne is a perfect getaway for nature lovers, adventure seekers and anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in the lap of nature. The place is famous for its scenic beauty, lush green forests, and pleasant weather.

We started our journey early in the morning from Delhi, and after a scenic drive of around 6 hours, we reached our destination. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys.

The first thing that caught our attention was the Bhulla Lake. The serene lake is situated at the heart of the town and offers a perfect spot for boating and picnicking. We spent some time there, admiring the beauty of the place and enjoying the cool breeze.

Next, we headed to the Garhwal Rifles Regimental War Memorial, which is a tribute to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. The museum houses a collection of artefacts and weapons used by the regiment during various wars.

After that, we went to St. Mary's Church, which is one of the oldest churches in the region. The church has a beautiful colonial architecture and is surrounded by picturesque gardens.

We then visited Tip n Top, a popular viewpoint that offers a panoramic view of the surrounding hills and valleys. The place is also famous for its sunrise and sunset views.

The next day, we went for a trek to the Tarkeshwar Mahadev Temple. The trek was a bit challenging but the views were worth it. The temple is situated amidst dense forests and offers a peaceful ambiance.

In the evening, we visited the local market, which offers a variety of handicrafts, souvenirs, and local delicacies. We tried some local street food, which was delicious.

Overall, Lansdowne is a perfect destination for a weekend getaway. The place has something for everyone, be it adventure, nature, or relaxation. The serene ambiance, breathtaking views, and pleasant weather make it a must-visit destination in Uttarakhand.
