Witnessing The Resilience Of Cambodia That Sheds It's Dark & Gruesome Past

Usually, I do not end up crying on my trips to exotic countries…. usually! But when I was in Cambodia, I was so struck with grief that I had to sit down and compose myself. It was because of the personal story of a victim of the infamous killing fields of Khmer Rouge.

Let me tell you from the beginning. Cambodia is a country with a rich history, but unfortunately, one of its most notorious historical sites is the Killing Fields. Located just outside the capital city of Phnom Penh, the Killing Fields were the site of mass executions during the brutal Khmer Rouge regime in the 1970s.
