Advice for first solo travel trip

Hi all, just looking for some advice on taking my first solo travel trip. While I know no one can make a decision for me I thought it would be helpful to hear some stories from other travellers.

Go for it. Why not? Why not take take the sabbatical, if your company offers it? If you do settle down elsewhere and decide not to come back then maybe then, you can quit your job.
