Women have a strong desire to be self-sufficient. Even more so is the desire to travel alone into the unknown. However, have you noticed how every other guy we know goes on solo excursions, but how many women do the same? It is a known fact that there aren't many. Why? They simply do not feel comfortable, particularly while traveling alone in India. Now and then, we all yearn to get away from our everyday routines and immerse ourselves in the most beautiful nature. Solo travel is powerful since it allows you to embark on a self-discovery quest. Most of us, as women, have heard people suggest that a woman should not travel in India alone because it is too unsafe.
Yes, it is true, India has long been portrayed as a dangerous place for tourists from all over the world. If you take basic self-defense measures, you may appreciate the beauty of your nation while remaining safe. We've compiled a list of a few locations in India that are noteworthy for their undeniable appeal while still being safe for lone female travelers.
Whether it's summer or winter, Nainital is a year-round destination. It's peaceful and, more importantly, secure! The welcoming warm smiles of the Kumaoni people will make you forget about your fears about traveling alone. It would be an empty tour if no one went boating on the tranquil lakes.
Pondicherry is known not just for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful beaches, but also for its French-inspired culture, historical French colonies, delectable food, particularly in its Parisian cafés, colorful buildings, and street names in French! Every year, a considerable number of tourists flock to Puducherry in search of a getaway. This union territory provides a moment of peace, which is desperately needed in many parts of the country.
Sikkim, the heaven on earth, will take your breath away with its breathtaking landscapes, Buddhist temples, and Himalayan ranges, waterfalls, and lush green forests. Sikkim is one of the best places in India to travel on a solo trip for girls, with its monasteries and high mountains. It also has a thriving hospitality culture, which is always a plus when traveling alone. Sikkim is recognized as one of the top meditation destinations in the world.
When it comes to solo trips, Goa is a must-see destination. According to Plan India and the Child and Women Development Ministry, Goa is the safest state in India for women. The little settlement of Hampi will provide you with unique experiences. The UNESCO-listed Hampi is known for its amazing rock-cut temples. It's a little off the beaten path, but it's extremely exciting. Hampi will captivate you with its massive architecture.
If you're seeking the finest places to travel alone as a woman, a national park should be on your list. This national park in Assam is one of the final strongholds of the unique one-horned rhinoceros and the massive wild water buffaloes. To help guests discover the area, the government-run park offers private vehicle safaris and elephant tours, which we highly suggest!
Because of its peaceful solitude, breathtaking vistas, historical sites, and colorful Buddhist culture, Ladakh has become fairly popular with lone female travelers in India. Although commercialization has reached Ladakh's borders, the region has managed to preserve the natural beauty to the greatest extent feasible. There is a large number of reasons to visit this place at least once, from the freezing barren desert to the bizarre splendor of the Pangong lake.
